Photo of the week

Gordon Baker of Highfields took the below photos last Friday October 26 at his place. This was around the time of the Crows Nest fires and could explain the reason for such beautiful colours in the sky. Well done Gordon!

Trudy and Ged perform in Kempsey

Trudy Hintz of Trudy's Coffee Shop Cafe in Crows Nest recently performed with her husband Ged at the Slim Dusty Country Music Memories week at Kempsey held October 22 to 28. The two were amongst many other country music artists who performed during the week to help celebrate the life of Slim Dusty.   This is what she had to say:
"I would just like to say that Ged & I had a wonderful time performing and catching up with fellow artists at Slim Dusty CMC Memories festival at Kempsey this weekend.  To the organisers and volunteers, hats off, for one of the best run and organised festivals. Well done everyone. I'm sure those of you who were there would have to agree."

Photo of the Week

Every week, depending on room, we try to feature a 'photo of the week' or 'favourite photo' in our paper. The High Country News is now inviting people to post photos on our facebook wall or email them to herald@highcountrynews.net.au
We would love to see some interesting weather or nature shots!
The above photo is featured in last week's paper. It was taken by Michele Fowler of Crows Nest,  west of Kupli on April 15 of this year.
